There is a girl named Madina in Asanbeda village of Tukupani Panchayat of Thethaitanger Block of Simdega district. She was suffering from epilepsy since childhood. Her family members did not know anything about whether there is any cure for this disease or not and they never paid much attention to Madina.

Because Madina was from a hilly area which was very far from the city and they had no connection with the rest of the world and they thought that this disease will go away on its own with time. They never thought it necessary to get Madina treated. Whenever she fainted due to epilepsy, everyone would take her to the Vaidya or the village Pahan for exorcism. While all this was happening, her illness was gradually increasing, and she was becoming physically weak and this was also affecting her mentality. Whenever she did something, she would forget it and she could not remember anything due to which she had to leave her studies as she would often fall in her school as well.

One day when a Gram Sabha was organized in the village, workers of Chota Nagpur Kalyan Niketan had also come in the meeting and they told everyone about their work area, then a woman from the village informed them about this family that the family was in a very pitiable condition. As no one in the family is aware and educated, they do not know anything about these things and they are financially weak too, they need help too. On knowing this, the worker got the address of the victim’s house and went to her house and talked to Madina’s parents. During this, they said that we will treat our daughter by exorcism only, so there is no need for English medicine because they did not know anything about all these things and they were afraid to get the child treated. The people of the village had explained to them, the public representatives of the village also told them in their own way that it is very important to get the girl treated. After this, after a lot of persuasion, her parents agreed to get the girl treated. Thereafter, the worker of the organization took the application for the treatment of the children and the child was treated for which he was taken to Rin Pass hospital and examined and then he was given medicine. She was asked to take it daily and after the treatment, she started taking this medicine daily. After two-three months, a lot of changes were seen in the health of the girl and the girl is now quite healthy. The worker keeps visiting her from time to time and takes information about her treatment and medicine and the best thing is that the child has started her studies again and feels healthy.
