Story of Kiran

Name – Kiran (fictional)

Age – 26

Mother – Taramani Kerketta

Father – Safal Kerketta

Village – Tapudega Panchayat – Meromdega Block – Thethaitanger District – Simdega

State – Jharkhand

In Tapudega village of Meromdega Panchayat of Thethaitanger Block of Simdega district, there was a girl named Kiran (Uten Pyari Kerketta) who was the youngest in the family. But when she was 3 years old, she suddenly had an epileptic attack. Due to which Kiran’s family members were very worried and they were taking rural medicines.

In this way many years passed and Kiran became about 19-20 years old but her disease could not be cured. When her family told this to the villagers, the villagers told them about exorcism and rural medicine and asked Kiran’s family to do it. Kiran’s family listened to the villagers and apart from exorcism, showed her here and there but Kiran still could not be cured.

After that, Chota Nagpur Kalyan Niketan Sanstha came to know about a girl who is suffering from epilepsy. Then the members of the Sanstha went to the house of that girl and met her family and the girl. After knowing about the complete disease of that girl, the members of the Sanstha told about their work and talked to them about getting treatment from a doctor. On hearing this, Kiran’s family told the member of Chota Nagpur Kalyan Niketan Sanstha that we have never shown her to a doctor except rural medicine and exorcism. We do not know whether my daughter’s epilepsy will be cured or not. But the members of Chota Nagpur Kalyan Niketan Sanstha informed that now every disease has a cure which can be cured in a very good way, then Kiran’s family members accepted this and agreed to go to the doctor and with the help of Chota Nagpur Kalyan Niketan Sanstha, Kiran who is suffering from epilepsy was taken to Rin for consultation with the doctor, after that, as the doctor had said, take the medicine prescribed by us regularly and do not be careless in any way, Kiran’s family members kept feeding her medicine from time to time, in this way, Kiran became much better than before and she did not even eat food earlier, but now she eats, laughs and talks properly and was feeling much healthier than before, after this, Kiran’s family members thanked the institution on their behalf that we always remained in the circle of rustic and exorcism, never thought of going to the doctor, if perhaps we had gone to the doctor earlier, then my daughter would not have to suffer from epilepsy for so many years, she would have been cured earlier. It gets cured but we village women mostly lose our lives and the lives of our family by getting involved in exorcism and rural medicines. This is a matter of great sadness for us. A member of Chota Nagpur Sanstha told this and said that if you are suffering from any physical problem, first of all you should consult a doctor and only then you should do something because people often lose their lives due to superstition. This is a small true incident which is from Tapudega village of Thethaitanger block and Meromdega Panchayat.
