One day, a relative’s uncle, whom I call “chaha,” told me he would take me to an urban area. He then took me to a butcher shop, where I worked from December 2022. I used to peel and chop 400kg of chicken daily, but they never paid me. If I asked for money, they would hit me until I was unconscious for many hours. This way, I became a survivor of child labour. One day one “bada admi” came to shop he saw me , he asked my owner for taking me along with him, in return he will pay to my father , my father agreed with my chacha on that, though my mother was unknown from this matter.
Then, on 21.11.2023 I was found at the butcher centre, CKN madam, DCPU madam and police uncles gave me biscuits, I was happy, they took me to (CWC) child welfare committee, where I spoke about the challenges ,initially I was paid only ₹200 monthly, and at times I didn’t received any payment at all. They confirmed that I was safe, but my journey had been marred by familial disputes and economic hardships, forced me into labour at a young age.
These circumstances led to the decision to send me to a childcare unit for provisions of food, shelter, and education. This intervention not only saved me from the clutches of child labour and child trafficking, but also initiated legal actions against those people. I am grateful for the Raid – rescue team and the efforts of those who rescued me, as it has given me a chance at a better life.
